Straighten your smile with the 5 best braces providers in London

  • Treatment options: I looked for metal braces, clear aligners and lingual braces. One smile shouldn’t come with just one menu option.

  • Specialist expertise: I checked the team’s qualifications and experience, especially with complex cases. Teeth can be stubborn.

  • Clear pricing: I looked for upfront fees, package details and payment plans. Surprise bills aren’t the kind of reveal anyone wants.

  • Convenience: I checked locations, appointment times and remote monitoring. Regular check-ups should fit around life.

I’ve asked a few London orthodontists about my crooked teeth, and each consultation gave me something new to chew on (not literally, mind!). Choosing braces is harder than picking a side of the Tube escalator.

Some clinics offer clear aligners, while others swear by traditional brackets. I wanted to know which options would fit real life and a real budget.

So I looked for the best braces in London for adults and teens. Here’s what I found before letting anyone near my bite.

How much do braces cost in London?

Private braces in London generally cost £1,500–£8,000. The final price depends on the type of braces and how complex your treatment is.

Traditional metal braces cost £1,500–£4,000. Ceramic or tooth-coloured braces cost £2,000–£5,000.

Clear aligners, including Invisalign, cost £2,000–£5,500. Lingual braces, fitted behind the teeth, cost £3,000–£8,000.

1. ODL Dental Clinic – Affordable Braces London

Website

Address: 31 Finsbury Circus, Suite 1, Lower Ground Floor

Contact: 020 7739 3345; 020 7638 6600

Hours: Monday 8 AM – 6 PM; Tuesday to Thursday 8 AM – 8 PM; Friday 8 AM – 6 PM; Saturday 9 AM – 3 PM

Straightening your teeth can make your wallet wince, so ODL’s starting prices caught my eye.

Its Finsbury Circus clinic offers metal, ceramic and lingual braces, plus Invisalign, giving you options beyond whichever brackets first spring to mind.

The multilingual team has more than 80 professionals, and ODL says it has completed over 10,000 orthodontic treatments.

For working Londoners, appointments until 8 pm from Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday hours make fitting in a visit less of a juggling act.

Metal braces start at £999 for one arch, while upper and lower braces are listed at £1,349.

However, that entry price needs a closer look: the orthodontic assessment costs £59, and monthly check-ups and brace removal carry separate fees.

The clinic closes on Sundays, too, so your weekend option is Saturday before 3 PM.

Pros

  • Metal, ceramic and lingual braces, plus Invisalign
  • Evening appointments Tuesday to Thursday
  • Saturday appointments available

Cons

  • The £999 metal braces price covers one arch only
  • The £59 assessment, monthly check-ups and brace removal cost extra
  • Closed on Sundays

Thank you, Dr Bilal and the team, for such a great experience

Orthodontic treatment completed in just 9 months!

I had metal braces, and I’m so pleased with the results. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout, and everything was explained clearly at each visit.

Highly recommend ODL. Thank you, Dr Bilal and the team, for such a great experience.

Dr John is great. He is someone I trust and who is a braces expert. He straightened my teeth with metal braces and provided great aftercare. He is a consummate professional who really cares about his patients.

2. The Brace

Website

Address: 15 Artillery Passage

Contact: 020 7247 5768 / [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Thursday 9 AM – 7 PM; Friday 9 AM – 4 PM

If your child’s teeth have plans of their own, The Brace offers specialist orthodontic care a short walk from Liverpool Street station. Its options include metal and ceramic braces, plus clear aligners for younger patients.

The practice holds Diamond Apex Invisalign provider status and says its specialists can treat some complex cases with aligners. It offers treatment plans that may avoid extractions, though whether that’s suitable depends on your child’s teeth.

Parents may appreciate its free initial consultation and the lack of a waiting list for children’s braces.

Remote monitoring can cut down on trips across London, but your child will still need some appointments at the practice.

The catch for busy families is that The Brace closes on Saturdays and Sundays, so visits need to fit around school or work.

Friday hours also end at 4 PM, although Monday to Thursday appointments run until 7 PM.

Pros

  • Specialist care with braces and clear aligner options for children
  • Free initial consultation and no waiting list for children’s braces
  • Remote monitoring may mean fewer trips to the practice
  • Open until 7 pm Monday to Thursday

Cons

  • Closed on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Friday appointments end at 4 PM

Highly recommend them!!

I had a wonderful experience at The Brace. I had a ceramic brace at the top and metallic ones at the bottom. My treatment lasted for 24 months, and I am happy to say that now I am very confident in my smile and my teeth. Not to mention that everyone is nice and welcoming. Highly recommend them!!

Brilliant service at the Brace

Brilliant service at the Brace. Every time I visited, there was such a friendly atmosphere from both those working on my teeth and reception, which makes you feel really looked after. I got ceramic braces, and the prices are very reasonable for all they include compared to other orthodontists in the area.

3. Ortho London

Website

Address: 86 Harley Street, Marylebone

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Every other Friday and every other Saturday, 10 AM – 8 PM; 24/7 helpline

Choosing braces can feel like studying for an exam you didn’t sign up for, but Ortho London gives patients several options to compare.

Its Harley Street clinic offers metal and ceramic braces, Invisalign and lingual braces that sit behind the teeth.

The £50 initial orthodontic consultation covers a discussion of suitable options and likely treatment length. That fee goes towards treatment if you proceed, and online booking makes it easy to get the first appointment in the diary.

Do ask for the full treatment cost before a starting price wins you over. X-rays are listed at £75, monthly adjustments at £150, and you’ll need to budget for retainers.

However, in-person appointments run only every other Friday and Saturday, so regular check-ups may take some planning.

Both days run until 8 PM, which helps if you can’t get away during office hours.

Pros

  • Metal, ceramic, Invisalign and lingual braces available
  • £50 consultation fee goes towards treatment if you proceed
  • Online booking and appointments until 8 pm on clinic days

Cons

  • In-person appointments are only every other Friday and Saturday
  • X-rays, monthly adjustments and retainers add to the treatment cost

Customer Reviews

Dr Bruna is outstanding and highly professional

Dr Bruna is outstanding and highly professional. From day one, she explained every stage of my treatment in detail and with complete transparency. I wore braces for exactly the amount of time I was told I would, and the final result is amazing.

Thank you!!

Earlier this year, I finished my two-year braces treatment. Thanks to Linda and the whole team, my smile has completely transformed into beautiful pearly whites. From the start, the whole team was so sweet and made me feel completely welcome. Definitely the best dental clinic I have gone to. They also gave me complimentary teeth whitening, which brightened my smile and is still white months later. Could not be happier with the results. Thank you!!

4. Orchard Orthodontics LONDON

Address: 8 Brixton Hill, Brixton

Contact: 020 8649 7500 / [email protected]

Hours: Monday 8 AM – 6 PM; Tuesday 8 AM – 7 PM; Wednesday to Friday 8 AM – 6 PM; Saturday 8 AM – 3 PM

If braces are on your family’s to-do list, Orchard Orthodontics gives you more to consider than metal brackets.

Its Brixton specialists offer Damon braces and Invisalign, with NHS braces available for children who meet the clinical criteria.

Treatment is planned around each patient’s teeth and bite, rather than a one-size-fits-all smile. Dr Sadiq’s short videos can help you get your head around the options before you sit in the chair.

A free consultation gives you a chance to ask what’s suitable and what treatment may cost.

The Brixton practice opens until 7 PM on Tuesdays and offers Saturday appointments, which helps when school and work calendars refuse to cooperate.

Sunday visits are off the table, though, and Saturday hours end at 3 PM. If weekends are your only opening, you’ll need to fit appointments into that shorter window.

Pros

  • Damon braces and Invisalign available
  • NHS braces for eligible children
  • Free consultation and helpful treatment videos
  • Open until 7 pm on Tuesdays and on Saturdays

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

5. Clear Braces Direct

clear-braces-direct

Website

Address: Cannon Street Dental & Implant Centre, Lower Ground, 6 Dowgate Hill

Contact: 02080757106 / [email protected]

Hours: Book to schedule a service. Office: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–5 PM; Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

If metal braces aren’t your idea of a subtle smile upgrade, Clear Braces Direct offers another route at its Dowgate Hill location.

Its clear-aligner service uses a 3D scan to plan treatment and show how your teeth are expected to move.

The clinic offers Invisalign and Spark aligners, with remote monitoring that can reduce trips into the City. It says some suitable cases may finish in around four to six months with as few as three visits, though your own plan could take longer.

Payment plans can spread the cost, but ask for the exact interest terms before signing up. It’s worth checking the full price too, since retainers and any refinement rescan may add to the bill.

This service is for adults and generally suits minor to moderate corrections, though, so more complex cases may need another approach.

The Dowgate Hill location also closes at 5 PM Monday to Thursday and 4:30 PM on Friday, which could mean time off work for appointments.

Pros

  • Invisalign and Spark clear aligners
  • 3D treatment planning shows projected tooth movement
  • Remote monitoring may mean fewer clinic visits
  • Payment plans available

Cons

  • Service is for adults and generally suits minor to moderate corrections
  • Retainers and any refinement rescan may cost extra
  • Closes at 5 PM Monday to Thursday and 4:30 PM on Friday

Customer Reviews

They offered the most competitive price for an equally professional treatment

I am very pleased that I chose to have my Invisalign treatment with Clear Braces Direct. They offered the most competitive price for an equally professional treatment.

The whole process was smooth. The monitoring app cut out all the unnecessary appointments, which was especially important to me as I started my treatment during the pandemic. I still felt that my treatment was individualised and professional.

Special shoutouts to Dr Patel and Dr Tinkler, who were great

Fantastic experience using Clear Braces Direct for my Invisalign journey; my only regret was not doing it sooner. Overall, very happy with the treatment and would recommend to anyone considering.

Special shoutouts to Dr Patel and Dr Tinkler, who were great.
