The 5 top physiotherapists in London who’ll help you say goodbye to body pain
Sometimes, when your body is screaming that something isn’t quite right, it’s better to listen to it than popping in a painkiller and magically hoping that the pain will disappear.
No one likes dealing with pain—like that twinge in your lower back or persistent knee pain. That’s why seeing a physiotherapist can be quite helpful when it comes to getting your body on track.
We get what it’s like having to deal with unwanted body pain, so we did the research and spent time checking out different physiotherapists in London.
Here’s who we would go to to help us feel our best.
How much does it cost to get physiotherapy done in London?
Getting physiotherapy treatment in London costs at least £40 per session. This price is just an estimate. The cost will vary depending on the clinic, the therapist’s experience, and more.
1. West London Physiotherapy

Address: 29-30 Elvaston Mews, South Kensington
Contact Details: +44 20 7937 1628
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 7 PM
- Saturday – 9 AM to 1 PM
Website: https://www.westlondonphysio.co.uk/
West London Physiotherapy stood out to us because of their high standard of care.
We appreciate that their physiotherapists take the time to understand your issues, whether it’s persistent backache or surgical recovery.
We were impressed with their insightful approach to knee pain. Several patients appreciated how the physiotherapist identified alignment issues in the hip, which were actually causing the discomfort—something they hadn’t considered before.
We also love that they offer hands-on manual therapy, like massages, to help relieve pain. For those who prefer a more active approach to recovery, the clinic offers sports injury management and exercise rehabilitation, which can be done at home.
Post-operative care is another area where they excel. We like that they actively track your progress, ask you questions about how you’re feeling, and adjust the plan if needed.
We also appreciate the realistic and practical tips on posture, movement, and self-recovery exercises.
Our only complaint is that the wait time for that initial appointment is quite long. Many told us they had to wait at least 45 minutes to see the physiotherapist.
He helped me a lot during all the recovery period
“Very high quality clinic! Alessandro is very professional and knowledgeable. He helped me a lot during all the recovery period after a knee surgery that involved both tibial spine and cruciate ligament. Very kind and nice person who he still supporting me in the final stage of improvement. Highly recommended”

2. Central Health Physiotherapy Chancery Lane

Address: Quality House, 5-9 Quality Ct, City of London
Contact Details: +44 20 7404 6343
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 8 AM to 7 PM
- Friday – 8 AM to 6 PM
Website:https://www.central-health.com/chancery-lane-physiotherapy-clinic/
Chancery Lane Physiotherapy initially caught our attention because of the variety of things they offer.
They offer shockwave therapy for those who suffer from stubborn plantar fasciitis—heel pain in the arc of the foot. Several people told us that while the treatment felt intense, it was ultimately effective and manageable.
For those who are more sporty, there are sports injury treatments. Many athletes appreciated how their rehab plans weren’t just focused on healing but also on preventing future injuries.
We also heard positive things about their hydrotherapy, particularly from those with joint pain and mobility issues. Patients said it gave them noticeable relief and made movement easier.
What we were most impressed with, though, was Chancery Lane’s flexibility. Their online sessions and home visits make physiotherapy far more accessible.
We tried their online physiotherapy and loved how their physiotherapists were able to demonstrate practical exercises online via video call and give feedback to our form.
That said, several who went into the clinic itself complained about last-minute canceled appointments on the clinic’s end due to double bookings.
Treatment has transformed my mobility
“Chris Pinches is a fabulous physiotherapist whose advice and treatment has transformed my mobility. I have recently had knee revision and a knee replacement and my sessions with Chris have greatly aided my recovery. I would highly recommend him as a physiotherapist to anyone suffering from arthritis or injury,”
- Susan Breau, Google Reviews
Has been incredibly friendly, and supportive
“Central Health has been instrumental in my recovery from a shoulder dislocation earlier this year. I would highly recommend Lucie, as she has been incredibly friendly, and supportive yet pushed me to work hard to strengthen my shoulder with different exercises and stretches. I had very limited range 6 months ago, but am now back to full strength and back to my yoga classes. Absolutely recommend.”

3. Physio On The Green

Address: Swan Mews, London
Contact Details: +44 20 7870 0313
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM
- Friday – 7:30 AM to 5 PM
- Saturday – 8 AM to 4 PM
Website: https://www.physioonthegreen.com/
We’re big fans of how Physio on the Green integrates tech into its services. Its app, Physitrack, lets patients see videos of exactly how to do each exercise and track their progress.
Many people told us it’s motivating to see that visual representation of how hard they’ve come in the recovery process. And we appreciate the reminders that pop up on your phone.
We also like how you can contact your physiotherapist directly through the app. Many loved how they could get direct feedback and ask any questions about exercise without having to wait for their next appointment.
Their use of technology doesn’t stop there. Their on-site clinic uses 3-D anatomy software to show patients exactly what is going on with their injuries.
Patients appreciated seeing a close-up model of their muscles and joints because they could visualize where their pain was coming from.
If we had to point out a downside, it would be their strict policy around rescheduling on-site appointments. A few patients said they had a hard time making changes once something was booked.
A comprehensive rehabilitation process
“Can’t recommend Maddie enough! After a bad shoulder injury she referred me through the best channels to get it properly diagnosed and we worked together to go through a comprehensive rehabilitation process. I’m now fully back in the gym and playing golf which I didn’t think I’d ever be able to do (pain-free) again. Brilliant physio!”

Practitioners are highly skilled and experienced
“Great clinic. The practitioners are highly skilled and experienced. I came years ago for an injury that nobody else had managed to sort out and Steve got rid of it in just a couple of months. Been coming back regularly “for maintenance” ever since.”

4. One Body LDN – London Bridge Physiotherapy | Sports Massage

Address: 5A, Maltings place, 169 Tower Bridge Rd
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 8:30 PM
- Saturday & Sunday – 9 AM to 4 PM
Website: https://onebodyldn.com/physiotherapy-london-bridge
We love how hands-on the physiotherapists from One Body are from the get-go. The physiotherapists here actually try to pinpoint the root of the problem and not just try to treat your symptoms.
Several people told us from the very first session that they felt instant pain relief. Some with stiff necks told us the tension just melted away, while those struggling with back pain said they felt a significant release of pressure almost immediately.
Many patients also mentioned how the clinic’s mobility stretches helped them prevent the stiffness in their necks from returning.
We also appreciate how thorough they are when it comes to exercise plants. They take the time to explain exactly what exercises you need to do and why. They tailor the routines to your specific issues and don’t just give you generic plans.
Their consistent follow-up also stood out to us. The team regularly checks in to track your progress and adjust the plan if needed, giving you the ongoing support you need.
The only downside? Their appointment slots fill up quickly, so if you want to snag one, you’ll have to be flexible with your time.
The physios always look after you and deliver a first class service
“I have been a One Body LDN customer for a couple of years now and regularly visit their central London clinics for sports massages and maintenance. Their clinics are lovely and the physios always look after you and deliver a first class service. These guys genuinely care. Would highly recommend!”

5. Strength Physiotherapy

Address: 56, 57 Ewer St
Contact Details: +44 20 3488 8050
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 10 AM to 4 PM
Website: https://strengthphysiotherapy.com/
Strength Physiotherapy offers a 30-minute free consultation. We really like this because it allows patients to test the waters first and see if the physiotherapists fit them.
Booking was super straightforward through their website, and we were impressed by how quickly they responded to us within the next business day.
We really appreciate how down-to-earth Alex Dear, the physiotherapist, is. We like how he actually listens to what you have to say about your pain, how it started, and what’s making it better or worse.
He’s worked with all sorts of athletes from places like Arsenal Ladies and England Netball, so we feel confident in his expertise.
Many patients we talked to also praised his use of biomechanical assessments to identify any issues and explain how body mechanics might contribute to the problem.
One person we spoke to had persistent shoulder pain, and Alex was able to diagnose tendinopathy (pain in the tendons) due to strenuous workouts.
We also love how he creates a tailored treatment plan, whether it be rehabilitation services or strength and conditioning movements.
The only thing we don’t like, though, is that some of the exercises are a bit too repetitive.
My back issues were significantly reduced
“Before working with Alex I was struggling with lower back pain that was impacting my ability to train and make progress. Alex worked with me to figure out the best way to train around my injury and modify my programme to ensure that I could still train and make progress without risking further injury and allowing for ample recovery. We initially reduced the volume and the weight of the programme and used tempo as a variable to control intensity. The reduction in weight worried me at first as it felt like a step backwards, but after some weeks of this programme I was able to recover so that my back issues were significantly reduced and managed to add more than 30kg to my squat PB. I’d recommend working with Alex to anybody struggling with ongoing pain that is limiting their ability to train effectively.”

Personal trainer, physio, and life coach all in one
“Alex has been absolutely brilliant. He is a personal trainer, physio, and life coach all in one. I came to him with recurring back pain but also with a general desire to get back into good physical health following a few years or neglect on that front. His programme has been tailored to my goals and the results are clear – no more pain and an incredible boost to my overall physical and mental well-being. Despite the programme being solely online, Alex is in constant communication, is very responsive and he makes it easy to check in on any issues (eg with form or discomfort) through WhatsApp and video calls etc. Alex genuinely cares about his clients and I would recommend his coaching to anyone.”
