Cheer on your team at the best sports bars in London by neighborhood
I’m not exactly a sports fan, but I’ve (reluctantly) endured a pay-per-view boxing match and somehow watched three Formula 1 Grands Prix at home. The former had people nearly breaking the projector when their bet lost; the latter was just me at 2 AM with chips and juice.
Still, both experiences were memorable in their own way. But at one point during breaks and pit stops, I caught myself thinking, “This would be way better with real snacks… and actual human company.”
Maybe that’s a sign that you and I should check out the best sports bars in London! They’ve got everything–big screens, great food, good people–and since they’re sorted by neighborhood, finding one close to home is a win already.

But really, American football is Kings Sports Bar’s specialty. Regarded as the home of the NFL in London, they take every punt, tackle, and touchdown to the next level with weekly screenings every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday throughout the NFL season.
Not to mention the Super Bowl parties that just get bigger and better each year. As for the food, you have to try their chicken wings with chipotle and lime sauce, the Dirty Game Day burger, and the Monster Nachos for sharers.

If Kings Sports Bar is Central London’s NFL hub, then The Cabbage Patch is the home of rugby in the South. Regulars call it the place to be during match season, and judging from the Instagram clips of jersey-clad families and friends whooping in unison, you just might agree.
The moment you walk in, you’ll feel the spirit of rugby–both in the themed decor and the bar’s location near Twickenham Stadium. And when the big matches roll in, so does their outdoor bar, turning game day into a full-blown celebration.
Don’t think rugby is all they have, though! They also screen Premier League, Champions League, and EFL live on their big screen–all to be enjoyed with classic fish & chips, burgers, or grilled pork ribs paired with a well-poured ale, fine wine, or single malt whisky.

Most dishes are made for sharing–nachos with all the dips, racks of ribs with chips, and enough wine or beer to toast to every goal, try, or knockout. It’s really the kind of spread that brings real sportsmanship to the table, from passing the sauce to timing your bites with the game clock.
And if it’s not match season, you can always pop in on Friday and Saturday to sing along or dance to live music and DJs. The party, complete with smoke machines, lasers, and a disco ball, goes on until 2 AM–just right for that long-overdue catch-up with friends.

At East London’s TOCA Social, you’ve got two ways to catch live football screenings, the European Finals, and the Women’s Euros. Either watch with the crowd on the main bar’s large screens or opt for a more private view from your own corner.
After the match, celebrate your team’s victory–or mourn the loss–with a strong kick in one of TOCA’s 17 immersive football boxes. Next, hit the foosball and crokinole (a disc-flicking game) tables, and don’t forget the photo and karaoke booths to make your day extra memorable!
Load up on their signature chicken tenders and Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich–add in a box of sliders or steamed bao buns for the whole squad, too. Then wash it all down (and keep the drinks flowing) with the three-liter Campfire Hazy IPA Beer Tower.

Beechwood Sports Pub’s ultra HD screens and booming sound system aren’t just indoors. Out on the terrace, they’ve got them ready for some sunny viewing of football, Formula 1, cricket, rugby, and netball–all with the same hearty burgers, zesty wings, and light salads.
But if you ask me, I’d stay inside–mainly because that’s where the shuffleboard is. Book a table and challenge your friends to a round during halftime or after your team has played; it’s all yours for 30 minutes.
You can also rent a semi-private back room for pre- or post-game dinners, corporate gatherings, or any kind of celebration. It comfortably fits 80 standing or 40 seated guests, ready to feast on All-Star Buffets as well as beers, cocktails, spirits, and soft drinks to match.

Go wild for your football, cricket, rugby, and tennis heroes on any of the 16 big TV screens mounted across the walls and above the bartenders.
There’s outdoor seating, too, where the fully loaded fries, Bangkok Bad Boy chicken burger, and handmade Green Field pizza taste just as good. Of course, there’s more on the menu–for instance, the assortment of wines, beers, cocktails, and spirits.
And if your birthday, anniversary, or corporate event falls on game day, it’s a good idea to book the venue privately. Have 160 people on your guest list, but if you have friends or colleagues who are all for the drinks, you can bump it up to 200; the other 40 can just relax at the bar.
Also, make it a habit to check their website or Instagram, so you know when the next NFL Night or Super Bowl party is going to be.
O’Neill’s Carnaby Street

- Friday and Saturday – 9 AM – 12 AM
- Sunday – 9 AM – 10:30 PM
Pricing: ££
There’s never a moment of silence at O’Neill’s Carnaby Street, unless everyone’s holding their breath during the nail-biting climax of a football, rugby, cricket, boxing, or UFC match. But as soon as the winner is announced, you’ll be jumping up and down with fellow fans at the bar.
That alone tells you how electric the atmosphere gets at O’Neill’s–and you’ll feel it from every booth, long table, and bar stool. As an Irish pub, it’s got all the classics: Irish stew, gourmet burgers, and sandwiches alongside Guinness on tap, craft ales, and ciders.
On the off chance you’re curious about what O’Neill’s is like without the sports, head over on a Friday or Saturday night. The shift from game-day chants and yells to live music sing-alongs is a fun surprise!
Features to look for in a London sports bar
- Multiple sports: Football may be the most loved sport in London, but a great London bar makes space for all kinds of fans. So like the ones on this list, look for venues that show everything from the Six Nations and Wimbledon to Formula 1 and UFC.
- HD Screens: Just like going to the cinema for movie night, watching a match in HD hits different. If a London bar invests in high-definition TVs or projectors so that it’s as if you’re in the stands at Wembley or Centre Court, you’ll know they take game-day seriously.
- Pub food: You’re not in one of the best London sports bars if a match or game comes with no good pub food. We’re talking wings, nachos, burgers, and fries that will surely keep your energy up throughout the match, served in shareable platters or creative twists related to the sport.
- Beer selection: London knows its beer, and a solid sports bar reflects that. From Bermondsey craft lagers and Camden Pale Ale to global favorites on tap, even house cocktails and non-alcoholic brews, go for those that have pints for every palate.
- Other games and activities: There are times when you arrive early or aren’t quite ready to go home yet after the game. It’s only right that a London sports bar has something else to keep you entertained like TOCA Social’s foosball tables and The Earlsfield or O’Neill’s live music.
How to choose the right bar for your sport
- Check the broadcast schedule: Not all bars show every match. It’s always a good idea to call ahead or check their website and social media to see if your game will be on—especially if it’s not a mainstream sport or airing outside the usual hours.
- Choose your timing wisely: While all the bars on this list screen multiple sports, it’s best to visit during events you’re actually into. For example, the Champions League Finals in May or June, or Boxing Day in December, the UK’s biggest football holiday.
- Mind the time zone difference: If you’re catching an international match, choose a bar that stays open late, as evening kick-offs and viewings are more common in London sports bars. Belushi’s London Bridge and The Earlsfield cater to fans until 3 AM and 2 AM, respectively.
- Ask about audio priority: It’s kind of a mood killer when you’re watching a tense game but the volume is off, and music’s blaring in the background. Bars like Greenwood Victoria and Beechwood Pub stand out for sound systems that deliver loud and clear commentary.
- Evaluate seating and screen views: Even the coolest sports bar won’t do if you can’t see the game properly. And though the bars we’ve included here have well-placed screens and seating, the views at Kings Sports Bar and Frankie’s Sports Bar just have that extra immersive vibe.
