The 5 Best Vietnamese Restaurants in London for Your Next Noodle Craving
I spent my twenties walking around Shoreditch in the rain, hunting for a bowl of noodle soup that actually tasted like the ones I had in Hanoi. But I found that most bowls just tasted like salted dishwater, which is a miserable way to spend lunch!

We rounded up the best Vietnamese restaurants in London that simmer their broth properly and keep their herbs fresh. Let’s dig in!

The obvious trade-off is the late opening hours every day of the week. Since they start at lunchtime, you have to grab breakfast elsewhere.

Absolutely the best Pho Bo I’ve ever had
Absolutely the best Pho Bo I’ve ever had. I am afraid to try this soup elsewhere because this is the Etalon of Vietnamese Pho Bo. The place’s amazing and well seasoned broth, lots of great meat, sprouts, cilantro, pickled garlic, chili, onion…all these are what are standard here and missing elsewhere.

The best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had in London
What an absolutely fantastic find! Not only was the food the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had in London, the ingredients were fresh and the housemade soup for the pho was to die for. The kaya cheesecake is really unique, fluffy and light but oh so delicious. Service was quick, friendly and we had a really lovely chat with the sweet older lady who works there. We will definitely be coming back! 5 stars on everything ✨️ 😍

Juicy, flavourful and perfectly grilled
Had the Vietnamese lemongrass chicken rice today and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was juicy, flavourful and perfectly grilled with a lovely smoky aroma. The rice paired so well with the sauce, and the fresh vegetables balanced everything nicely. The fried egg on top was a great touch too. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service — definitely would come back again! 😊

The scallops were to die for
We were a party of three and decided to order starters that we could all share and enjoy. We got Vietnamese spring rolls, charcoaled spare ribs and charcoaled chicken wings, Hà Nội Prawn Cake, Grilled Scallops, fried rice, stir fried rice noodles with mushrooms, and grilled scallops. The standouts were the spare ribs, the prawn cakes and the grilled scallops. The scallops were to die for! I can’t wait to visit again!

5. Viet Food

Website: https://vietnamfood.co.uk/vietfood/
Address: 34 – 36 Wardour Street, Soho
Contact: +44 20 7494 4555, [email protected]
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Friday – Saturday: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Sunday: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Viet Food is on our list for their Vietnamese-style bento boxes. These feature lemongrass chicken and rich curries, giving you a complete meal in one compact order.
Chef Jeff Tan focuses on modern street food, elevating the classics with homemade sauces completely free of artificial additives. Here, the pho broth boils slowly for 16 hours to extract maximum flavour.
Meanwhile, small contemporary plates like coconut calamari pair perfectly with a curated international wine list. This can elevate any kind of date night.
The trade-off is less flexibility: set menus are available by booking only. The vegetarian set menu also requires at least two guests, so plant-based solo diners will have to order individual dishes instead.

One of the best Vietnamese meals I’ve had in London
Excellent Vietnamese food in a cosy setting. The pho was rich and flavourful, the beef wrapped in betel leaves was smoky and delicious, and the stir-fried water spinach was cooked perfectly. The scallops and squid with pineapple were fresh and well-balanced, while the soft-shell crab salad added great texture. Refreshing drinks, friendly service, and beautifully presented dishes throughout. One of the best Vietnamese meals I’ve had in London. Highly recommended.

Combined with the crispy soft-shell crab, every dish was packed with fresh, vibrant flavor. It’s an absolute must-visit!
