The fact they offered a no-obligation site visit was also important to me. I e-mailed them with a detailed document with photographs in PDF format – this minor problem has been going on for five years and has defeated all previous efforts. The response from Karolina was quick and efficient, which isn’t always the case with construction-related companies… She passed on my report to one fo their surveyors and soon came back to me to book a site visit. Wai Lam arrived on time and made a good impression. He conducted his survey and identified much more precisely than anyone else what the nature and extent of the damp was, and the most likely cause. He managed to pinpoint the saucer-size source of the damp and suggested how I might confirm the hypothesis. What he didn’t do was try to pressurise me into commissioning work before I’d carried out my own further investigations.
